Today was a sloooow day for me. That Hpnotiq daiquiri we like so much had an extra shot of something called "Deisel" in it. I'm finding out now that it is 190 proof alcohol! That explains a lot. We had a late lunch with Grandma Elaine (looooove her!) at Kenner Seafood after waiting an hour for a table at Smitty's that never happened. Gumbo, fried artichoke hearts & eggplants, boiled jumbo shrimp and crawfish.... things were looking up.
We had an invite to a Lundi Gras party on St. Charles Ave. at 5:00. 5:00 came and went; but we threw the boys, MiMi, and PaPa El in the car and headed uptown anyway. So far we had gotten really lucky with our parking, but not tonight. We had to walk about 8 blocks and work our way through the sea of collegiates on the neutral ground to get to the party. The floats were beautiful; but we missed about half of the parade. Thankfully, we still had time to go inside, have some food and drink, and catch up with some old friends.
Ian kept me on my toes as this was not a toddler-proof home. Of course, I got plenty of chances to take in the wall to wall art collection as I chased him throughout the house. (Sorry, no pictures.)
