We decided to head out to Charles Lindbergh's grave first, since it was the farthest attraction from the house and work our way back.

I knew the name, but honestly didn't know much about the man. Our awesome book, Maui Revealed, included a synapsis of his life and ordeal with the kidnapping and subsequent death of his infant child. What a horrible tragedy! Lindbergh was also an advocate for preservation of the environment. His good friend, Sam Pryor, told him that he had found heaven and it's in Hana. Lindbergh eventually moved to Maui and when cancer treatment in the states was no longer successful, he asked to come home to Maui to die. He is buried in Kipahulu.
