Thoth & Bacchus

Sunday we met up with an old high school friend, Erin, and her husband, Chuck to watch the uptown parades. They know how to set up for a parade! Chuck had parked his truck (port-o-potty strapped in the bed) and set up a canopy, ladders and chairs on the neutral ground first thing that morning. We joined them in time to catch most of the second parade of the day, Thoth. MiMi and PaPa El walked over to join us while we waited for Bacchus to roll.
This bubble-blowing dog became necessary after Kerry tired of watching Ian run laps around the nearby port-o-potties.
The Grand Marshal float was left empty in honor of the late Jefferson Parish Sheriff, Harry Lee.
My best picture of Hulk Hogan, the King of Bacchus.
LSU football players and cheerleaders ride a "National Champs" float.

The boys all did well on the ladders, especially Chuck. That green hat and purple vest made an excellent target.
Chuck had the radio close at hand to give everyone the Super Bowl updates. "It's still 3-7." And Bryce devised a way to get a bigger bang out of his "Snap Pops".

Some of my favorite floats as a kid.
We stopped to grab one of our favorite Hpnotiq daiquiris and listen to the Giants win the Super Bowl. (Geaux Eli!) Only in New Orleans do they need to post a sign stating "No Children Allowed Inside" at a bar.
