Butterflies on the Patio

Because Gram was anemic and always cold, we tended to have meals on the back patio when we could. She found a new meal buddy in Ian, who always wanted to have "what she's having". Often that included hot chocolate, Malt-o-Meal, Coco Puffs, and Cheetos.
On one of these occassions we spotted a butterfly freshly emerged from his cocoon- the first of many we would see over the next couple of months. Usually they would linger on the vines, flapping their wings until fully dried.

I learned at the botanical gardens that there is a species of butterfly that eats only the passion vine...hence all of the butterflies in the yard. How nice to have shared meals outside!
