While visiting Grandma Elaine and checking out her "new" house, the boys continued their animal quest. They captured three green anole lizards and smuggled them back to MiMi's house. These were not going to be future pets. Although fun to watch, we have plenty of lizards running around our own backyard in Austin. Since the tree frog had moved up to nicer real estate, the lizards were the new residents of the home-made terrarium. In total Bryce and Max managed to catch eight lizards between their grandmothers' houses. Now that they knew better than to handle the tree frog, they decided to fondle the lizards all day! This included holding them together (like a bunch of straws, perhaps) and force-feeding them the insects that were caught in the bug zapper! After initial struggles, the lizards learned it was much easier to just fake death until the boys gave up.
Staying at home is harder than going to work! Things can get out of control very quickly if I'm not on my toes. Three boys (make that four)keep me very busy every day!
