San Diego- Day 2

Legoland at last! The park was literally across the street from our hotel. How nice is that? We were there when the park opened, ready to go! When you first walk into the park there are plenty of familiar Lego characters around to greet you. This got everyone pretty excited.
Lego Darth Vader
Lego C3P0 & R2D2
Lego Thomas the Train

(The detail was awesome!)

Lego Bob the Builder Lego
Lego Einstein
Lego Spongebob
Indiana Jones
We chose to come to Legoland this weekend because there would be a Jr. Master Builders tournament happening. The theme was "Summer Fun" and participants were given a small base, a room full of legos, and all day to build their creations. Of course, we started here. Bryce and Max were in two separate age categories and I noticed the third, 16+. I asked the attendants if the + included adults and was told yes, I could enter a piece, too. Why not? None of our designs were chosen as winners this month; but they were put in the display case until next month's build-off. We thought they were all cool!
Max's" "Water Gun Wars"
Bryce's: "Beach House"
Mine: "Sleeping In"
Of course, the building and creating was very serious business and took 2 hours, so while we built Kerry had Ian next door at the Test Track. They were building and racing Lego cars.
(This is made of Legos, too.)
